What colour does the cere need to be to breed

how brown does a females cere have to be to breed plz help she is with a nother hen and 2 males 1 female and male 3 years old other male same age as fe male

The cere in hen Parakeet needs to be wrinkly and dark brown, basically the color of bark. Any color of brown as long as it's wrinkly (almost like your fingers can get when left wet too long- tho some hens get flakey) is fine. A hen will not accept a male to breed with her until she is ready to mate, so if you are worried about her breeding too young that is not a factor. As for the person who said if she breeds too young she will get egg bound. Hens produce eggs when ready with or without mating, and a solitary hen can become eggbound without ever seeing a male. that has nothing to do with being egg bound. An egg bound hen is a hen that for some reason or other cannot push an egg out of her body, if not seen immediatly the hen can die from stress and not being able to potty. You can put her in with a male at any time, even as youngsters. If they like eachother they will pair up, and mate when they are old enough. They aren't like dogs that can mate at a young age (of like 6 months) when they aren't old enough to be healthy enough for puppies, and produce puppies, those types of animals should be kept separated for breeding until they are over a year old, but with birds it is different. A bird will lay eggs without a male. Or i should say a healthy bird will lay eggs without a male.

when the females are ready their  cere get wrinkley and real tan. when the male is ready his cere is really dark bule. hope this helped

r u talking bout parakeets, if u r it depends on the lil bars on her head if it goes all the way down or near her cere shes not ready she, if she start breeding in a young age she might become egg-bound
