What colour dress for bridesmaids?

my friend is getting married next may and she has a gold dress (id say its a christmas gold) and her OH is wearing a kilt its mainly dark blue with purple (think cadburys) tartan pattern she wanted burgandy to begin with which would look nice with the gold but doesnt suit the tartan shes asked me 4 help what do u think any pics would help so i can show her

  1. I think dark blue with a sash that matches the brides dress would look nice.  If they don't have the sash the dark blue would still look great.  I think it would make the gold really pop!


  2. maybe a light champagne color, or ivory, something lighter than the bride and add a blue or purple sash.

  3. Dark Teal always looks lovely with gold (Buckingham palace has those two colours together outside, in the guards boxes)

    Dark grey would look good too and it seems to be 'in' at the moment.

    If I were you, I would take samples of the tartan and gold colour to dress shops, it would be so much fun.

  4. My best friend also had a gold dress and the wedding party wore navy blue dresses and it was really pretty.

  5. could go with a light blue or purple...would accent the colors in the kilt, but not so much that it's over kill.
