The pike in scotland eat mostly brown trout so a mix of red black and silver would be a good bet.

use a four or five inch spoon, in five of diamond pattern (yellow and red), or a frog back pattern (green with black).

thats what i use in canada, and it works very well. i think that 4 or 5 inches will get big to moderate size pike. remember that pike eat fish one third the size of their body weight.
