Question:

What colour to walls in my room?

I had all four walls of my room painted lime green, with a white border. I quickly got sick of the colour, and I'd like a change. My dad recently finished re-insulating the two outer walls, and I'm now allowed to paint them any colour I choose. What colour(s) would tone down the lime green walls that are already there? I mean basically, which colour(s) would make the lime green less, acidy...

Thank you.

  1. Any earth tones (browns, grays, preferably lighter tones) should do the job.  If you feel like painting your walls white that would be even better.  White goes with anything, and you just need to match up furniture colors in the room (which can be changed as often as you wish).

  2. i think to make the lime green look toned down and more sohpisticated I would pair it with any of these colours:

    deep purple

    charcoal grey

    navy blue

    hope this helped.

  3. Light blue, my favorite color is dark blue but that would look black at night and I heard black is the worst color to have.

My friend said he had black walls for a week and it was the worst because it looks like a dark void and you start to see things in it and freak out. He also walked into them at night because he couldn't see anything. He is probably just a moron though :p.

Anyhow, moral of the story, something light. So light blue would be awesome.

  4. try a dark kelly green or a kinda deep blue. not like midnight blue

hope it helps and good luck!

  5. Blue?

  6. go to behr or some other paint website

    http://www.behr.com/behrx/workbook/index...

and find a color using their colorsmart find a color that is similar to yours in the "browse color" section and then coordinate it using their color coordinator. Good luck

  7. I think you should get a mid-toned brown. I think any other color would just work with the green and make it appear brighter. Maybe like a light, coffee brown would be nice. They look nice together, and it'll bring the brightness of your room down. & to make the room nicer, make a white border on the brown walls too, so it matches more.

Avoid the bright colors, such as blue, orange and such. Stick to the earth colors or pastel ones.

  8. Go to this page

    http://www.colormatters.com/colortheory....

What you want will need to be a neutral color slightly tinted to the opposite side of the lime green, Like an off white tinted more toward a bluish tint.

    WARNING:

This can very easily go wrong an end up looking worse. I would actually prime and paint the entire room over.

Or visit several furniture showroom stores to see if you can get any ideas, You might see a lime green in use.
