What colours should I paint my room?

Question

I was thinking red and white, but would white get dirty more easily (like hand prints and dirt) so should I consider red and a cream colour?

Can you think of other colours that go well together?

Well, white walls don't get dirty that easily. Also remember that Red is a very strong color and so, be careful with it. It can be easy to over do it. Which the Red White combination would be nice.

Tan and Blue are also very nice together as well.

Red is hard to paint, it takes lots of coats to make it look good!  What room is it?  A bedroom?  You need to pick an inspiration piece, like some artwork, or a bedspread or something that you really like that you will have in the space and draw some of those colors out of the piece.

Take your inspiration piece to a paint place and they can help you pick out paint colors that will be nice!  But it's always easier if you star with something that will be going in the room!  (Bedspread, rug, art, throw pillows...).

If you do go with red and white, I don't think white is really an issue, the only places I think it would get super dirty is around the light switches, or some place like that people touch a lot with their hands.  You can always clean it, or touch it up with extra paint.
