Question:

What colours work well with a hunter green couch?

I was totally planning on doing the modern living room - glass and silver coffee tables, silver tv stand etc. - and then I got this super awesome deal on a comfy hunter green couch with matching recliners and ottomans. So now I have a lot of silver and hunter green and no idea as to what I should use for throw pillows. I thought that burgundy might be too Christmas - would silver/gray be acceptable? Maybe silver with a touch of burgundy or more hunter green?

  1.    ^ dont go with gold unless you like the packers

maybe tan throw pillows, or my neighbor has hunter green and a rustic white, like burch tree barck

  2. I think you could go with a warm palette of muted wine, deep peach, a lighter green, and browns to coordinate with the forest green furniture. Silver is a neutral so it will look lovely with these colors. (link below of a rug with all these colors together)

Or, you could use any deep jewel sister colors to forest green like burgundy or a lighter navy blue. This would be a cooler palette but would look super with the forest green furniture.(link below of a rug with these colors together)

Have fun picking out the colors that appeal to you the most!! : )

  3. You could try to go with brown for an earthy look, or you could maybe try gold.

  4. dark brown with orange  or a really soft green and gray

  5. hunter green for a mono palette

  6. Hi Sam, yes you can "modernize" hunter green. Just stay away from the reds, burgundies etc. (ho-ho-ho) You're going to think I'm crazy but here goes...This is the vision I got.Off-white/cream walls, pure white trim around windows and along floors. Off-white/cream  roman fabric blinds for continuity."Natural" coloured sisal or wicker area rug to add warmth and to neutralize existing floor colour (whatever it is).Modern glass & silver coffee table/s, a BIG high arc modern silver reading lamp. And here's what pulls it all together: huge square satin (yes satin ) cushions in a grayish-turquoise and perhaps some smaller ones in a golden-beige faux-suede.Modern artwork on walls to look clean,or traditional landscape (my personal choice) with lots of sky to repeat the blue- green theme and keep it soft and relaxed.I'm not a decorator, just an artist with a bit of  imagination. Sure hope this helps!

  7. mauve, burgandy, blacks and grays
