  1. hate mac, clinique's good, and chanel is my favorite. little more expensive but it goes on really light and smooth (and the case is pretty).

i suggest oil blotting sheets, and a compact only when you actually want to touch up your makeup, not get rid of oil. when you keep putting on powder, it sits on your skin, making it look really cakey as well as causing acne and clogged pores. oil blotting sheets soak up oil without disturbing your makeup at all. mac and neutrogena both make really good blotting sheets, but i neutrogena's just as good for less money.

  2. It sounds like MAC would do all the wrong things for your skin..

I definitely recommend Clinique. It is a hypoallregenic and is designed for sensative skin. It naturally covers all blemishes and acne, and goes on lightly, softly and very easily. This product also has a variety of colours to cater for every skin colour, whether you have a yellow or pink undertone (there is each undertone in each shade).

Also...clinique does not make you breakout.

I use Clinique Superbalanced Compact makeup. I have very oily skin in the summer and dry in the winter. I ensure that i adequately moisturise in the winter and use much lighter moistuisers in the summer. I then use my superbalanced compact foundation, and following i use a setting powder in the summer to counteract the oilyness (I normally don't need this so much in the winter). This is what i would suggest.

I think one of the main keys to ensuring your face doesn't break out, is to ensure you clean your face morning and night, and ensure you DO NOT touch your face with dirty hands(as the oil and dirt from hands clog pores also.) Use a good cleanser like Clean and Clear or Neutrogena of morning and night, and keep blotting paper handy.

Cleansing cloths from "simple" are also great to have on hand (this is like a cleanser though also).

I would recommend the Clinique superbalanced compact foundation, because it comes in a compact that can be taken everywhere (with sponge and mirror), is long lasting, does not make you break out, and is neither dry or too wet. I would avoid too many moisture foundations and stick with something like this one. If its still too oily, then use a powder over the top. Any clinique one will do - superpressed powder, or mineral powder!

    Good luck!

  4. Most Of The time its not the compact that makes you break out its how you take it off.x a good make up remover,Face  wash and moisturizer is essential.I used to get acne all the time and tried covering it up with foundation, powder, concealer ,everything,i used to take it off quickly because i just couldn't be bothered and i hated looking at myself in the mirror with all my spots.but then i saw a programme showing that even when you take your make up off it still leaves 20% in your pores, which blocks them up and causes more spots and blemishes! so now every night i take off my make using Simple Eye&Face Make Up Remover(c) then wash my face with an exfoliating face wash or just a normal face wash. Then i mostrise using Clarins moustriser but others work fine! And my acne went away ! now i have clear, clean and soft skin! It works trust me.x

    Good Luck! x

    Hope This Helps.x

  5. Honestly, it all depends on your skin, you have to know what you are allergic to, and read the ingredients on the compact/powder. I find that a lot of women are allergic to drugstore make up products because of all the fillers they add to the make up. OF course many women are also allergic to high end products such as MAC, Clinique Bare Escentuals, etc. Like I said it all depends on your skin. Find what ingredients they put in the Almay powder and see if you are allergic to any of them.

I personally am allergic to MAC studio fix powder, it makes my face itch real bad! I currently use Bare Escentuals loose mineral powder and so far, no problems!

You can also ask your dermatologist for suggestions.

I hope you find a solution!
