  3. http://www.defenders.org

    Right now people want to kill wolves... It's a disgrace.

    The way I see it, If you hate wolves you might as well hate your dog to... Dogs are related to wolves but some people (the wolves haters) don't understand that and never well....

    God put wolves on this planet for a reason and who do they wolves-hater think they are? They are not god therefore, they don't have saying that wolves don't belong on this planet earth.

  5. There are many companies working through out the world to protect endangered animals. The most important organigation is WWF(World Wide Fund).

  6. Depending where you are located, Here the Florida Fish And Wildlife conservation Commission is the ones governing Endangered animals. They have Biologist that  conducts studies on a number of these animals.They are also protected mainly by the Florida Fish And wildlife Conservation Commission. You can check with you State and local game wardens. They may even give you other local groups that help  for this information.

  7. De wildt is a farm in south africa which breeds and acts as a hospital for endangered animals. they specializa in cheetan and wild dog. they so an amazing job

  8. In many cases the animals are threatened because their habitats (homes) are disappearing, for example because of human activities such as

    * cutting down the forests

    * draining rivers

    * building houses and roads

    In these cases, to save the threatened animal, you have to first save their habitat. When the habitat is protected, the animal species in question has a much greater chance of surviving.

    Without suitable habitat, the only way to save a species from extinction would be to keep the animals in captivity, such as in a zoo.

    Some organisations that work to save animal habitats are:

    * Conservation International; http://www.conservation.org/

    * Nature Conservancy; http://www.nature.org/

    * World Land Trust; http://www.worldlandtrust.org/

    Hope that helps!

  9. Company?  Well, not a "company," but how about small farmers, who farm in true traditional ways?

    Small farmers make room for native wildlife, because it's often EXTREMELY bennificial for them.

    My farm boasts an active and healthy native bee population.

    Endangered burrowing owls.

    Endangered (extremely) salamanders.

    Instead of shoot, trapping, or poisoning coyotees, red foxes, and the endangered desert fox, we have Great Pyrenees to guard our livestock.  The dog patrol farm boundaries, and bark.  Their bark, and their marking their boundaries (with urine) keeps the predatory wild canines off our farm.  This keeps both our livestock, AND the wild canines safe.  I've been farming for over 20 years.  Not one single time have I ever killed a wild coyote or fox.  However I have had to destory peoples pet dogs they allow to run amuck, after they have attacked and killed or mutilated some of my goats.

    Native birds gallore come here to eat, nest, or overwinter.  That's because we plant bird friendly plantings.  Insects play a huge roll here too, since we do not use any chemical fertilizers, or pesticides.

    My Mom's farm in WA has a THRIVING raptor population.  Bald eagles, Great Horned Owls, Barn Owls, Red Tail hawks, falcons, ect.  She also has Great Blue Herrons, and ultra rare wild wood ducks (gorgeous!).  She has a beaver dam, the the creeks that run through her property are salmon spawning streams.

    I just got her a Great Pyrenees puppy for Christmas, as she has too many coyotees.  She last last years lamb crop to them.  Instead of killing them, we opt to simply keep them off the farm.

    Small farmers live close to the earth.  They truely care what is happening on their land.  Small farmers are usually diversified, which provides much more habitat for wildlife.  Vast stretches of a mono crop is usually a pretty sterile environment, not allowing much if any wildlife to thrive.

    Small farmers are great stewards of the land, and often help endangered animals thrive.

    Sometimes small farmers are doing so, with great frustration.  Small farmers want to attract native birds, like the purple martin, or mountian blue bird (both rare), but we have to do so against all odds.  City folks, and suberbinites are often puttting out bird feeders that attract those nasty little brown house sparrows.  They are NOT native!!  Feeding them, helps them thrive, and explode in population.  What's worse is they invade the nests of rare native birds, like purple martins, or mountain blue birds, and kill the chicks, and the adults!

    So some rural folks resort to setting traps for the house sparrows, and then killing them...and we are labled cruel.

    If you want to support truely environmentally friendly companies that bennifit all wildlife, not just endangered wildlife, then buy from small farmers.  Buy directly, or shop your local farmers market.
