  1. always try your auto insurer first as most give a discount for writing multiple lines with them.  also, make sure you are with a company with at least a "A:" rating.  i understand you want cheap insurance, but you always want a company with a good reputation too.  you wont really care how cheap it was when you need them, you'll car how well they take care of your claim.


  2. check the rates on all of them... but make sure they have at least an a rating for your own protection.

    some maybe a lot cheaper but compare the coverages...

    when you read the fine print.. coverages  will vary

    chubb is known as the best carrier  around by their reputation/

    but comes with the price... they are the priceiest.. however

    in the event of a claim/ they are knownto give youthe least headache.. so weigh your issues

  3. I have a rental and we use Farmers Insurance or one they write.

  4. check with the company that you have your car insurance with, sometimes they give discounts to having multiple coverages.

    Mine (USAA) offers me a discount since I have both the car and renters insurance through them
