  1. you are supposed to collect as much as resource as you can by searching the relevant keyword in search engine,if you have good luck there, then your problem solved.however,if you could not find the fitful answer by doing that, here is the resource i prefered.http://insurance.online-frees.info/insur...

  2. To get licensed you need to go to an insurance school.  See your insurance commissioner for a list of schools or your local yellow pages.   You need a school and not an insurance company for that license.

  3. You have to attend classes authorized by the State of CA Dept. of Insurance.  These classes/books and exams cost money.  Since I am not sure what your means are, I have a couple of suggestions for you.

What you can do is get hired by a national company such as Farmers Insurance, and they will pay your way through classes and exams.  For example if you live in the LA area, Farmers Insurance is looking for insurance agents – see the Careerbuilder link under Sources.  I am not saying that Farmers Insurance is the best company, but I looked at their job listing, and it seemed pretty standard.

You can also start out in an insurance agency such as Lloyd S. Berkett Insurance Agency (assuming you live in the LA area).  I chose this agency at random from a Google search so I don't work for them.  But choose a medium to large agency because there may be some sort of tuition assistance or reimbursement program to help you pay for classes/books and exams.  Also you would benefit from experience from other agents already licensed.  And you would be supported by customer service representatives (who will be your right hands in the business).

Most importantly, decide what type of an insurance agent you want to be.  Home and car insurance are under Personal Lines insurance.  Business insurance, such as General Liability, fall under Property and Casualty insurance.  Then there’s life insurance, which seems to include financial advisement career opportunities.

If you decide on property and casualty insurance, you might want to consider obtaining your CPCU designation, which is basically considered “the PhD” degree in the insurance industry.  It is not an easy designation to obtain, but it would be worth for your career.  See the last link under Sources for more information.

If you’re not sure what type, go and talk with your home or car insurance agent!  It may lead to a job, if you’re not already in the business.

    Good luck!

  4. I would consider starting as a customer service rep (CSR) for an independent agent. As a CSR you will be able to learn a lot about insurance and gain the experience needed to advance into sales.

In time they will most likely pay to have you licensed. Also you won't be limited to try to make a living with only one company.

  5. Appear for the interviews with general ins cos....

Oriental ins,United india ins,National ins co .,etc., after selection they will give u proper training.
