  1. Amen logan!!

  2. I am a ballistics technician.  There are so many 223 bullets available - you cannot answer the question without knowing what your intended target is.

Some bullets, like the Blitz - are thin skinned for varmints.

Some of the hpbt are great for paper but not a good choice for game.

This list will literally go on and on.

You need to be more specific.

  3. logan nailed this one, no more can be said.

  4. The answer to your questions are right here... I am not sure if you are aware of this page but I find its one of the best resources on the internet for the .223 cartridge....

  5. For people sized targets, hands down, Black Hills.

They have the Navy contract for the 77gr boattail hp SEAL sniper round.

I happen to have a few hundred rounds, and it is just as you would expect, extremely consistent.

Hornady V-max is a very good varmint round, although Barnes just recently gave us the Varmint Grenade.  A frangible round that is unequalled in reference to effectiveness.

And UMC is an ok plinker round.
