  1. Bizarre, and very sad.

  2. That was because the dear parents applied the deadlocks, which in effect disable all the handles.  This is only done from outside as a security measure when you leave the vehicle, the manufactures clearly never imagined that anyone would be so crassly stupid as to do it with someone inside.

(The idea is that an ordinarily locked car can still be unlocked from inside, from the theft point of view if someone breaks a window, whereas with deadlocks it can't)

  3. Yugo

  4. Anything with deadlocks - virtually evey car I've had for years. (eg on Fords, double click the 'lock' button on the remote - you can't open the doors from inside). My last Vauxhall van was the same.

  5. Most modern vehicles are fitted with deadlocks so you can't smash the glass and then open the doors, it is safe unless you are stupid enough to lock your son in there

  6. I can hear a law suit in the making.

    tragic.

I'll be checking my cars next time i'm out, thanks for the warning.

  7. The Police paddy wagon!!!

  8. you can't but if you get inside the car put the lock pins down then take off the door pannel, take off the pin and have fun putting it back together

  9. None as far as I know.

  10. Wait a minute. What's the point of getting in a car if you can't get out ? Police cars have the rear inside door handles disabled so they can keep suspects locked inside. I can't see any other use for this idea.

  11. none i would hope...unsafe

  12. Look at the options list for most of your normal every day cars. They will all specify things like deadlocks that can't be opened from the inside. I sure hope the kids parents end up on either murder or manslaughter charges, they certainly deserve it!
