  12. Probably Tchaikovsky.... I just love his ballet's - Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

  13. I adore Gustav Mahler.

His music is remarkable in every way.

Mahler is to classical music aficionados

what straight scotch is to inveterate drinkers.

Beginning drinkers tend to like sweet drinks and then over the years work their way up to drinks like Scotch.

You can be sure that someone who consistently orders top shelf scotch is not a neophyte drinker.

Beginner listeners tend to like the lighter classics and then work their way up to composers such as Mahler.

Mahler fans have listened to a lot of great stuff to get to that level of sophisticated appreciation.

  14. Amy Lee (from Evanescence)

    She rocks

  15. John Williams, Danny Elfman

  16. Ben Gibbard, He's The Freakin bomb

  17. Ah without a doubt Rufus Wainwright...As q***r as a 2 dollar bill but the guy can write music.

  18. There are a few I am in awe of, and look up to....

Vanessa Mae is outrageously brilliant & awesome to me. She's composed some of her own work, like Red Hot, and has ingeniously performed Tartini, Vivaldi & Bach. I wish more girls looked up to her instead of to Miley Cyrus and Aly & AJ. She's fierce.

I really admire Rachel Portman, too. There are so few acclaimed female composers, & she's quirky & amazing.

Trevor Jones, the composer of the Last of the Mohicans, is a genius to me. His scores just grab you by the hand and pull you in. They're mesmerizing. I also adore Thomas Newman, the composer of Meet Joe Black. I used to fall to sleep to that soundtrack every night when I was little. Other kids had a security blanket, I had that soundtrack.

    Also:

Tonci Huljic (Croatian Rhapsody is phenomenal)

    Giacomo Puccini

    Claude Debussy

    Sorry....I couldn't just pick one.

    : )

  19. Chopin. Yes, stereotypical, but ohwell.

  20. M.Shadows!! (avenged sevenfold)

    omg he's a legend!
