Im not sure what your asking, but i know that with my phone, I can send a text to it from my computer by emailing *my phone number*@vzwpix.com and I will get a text message. I have Verizon.

If you have a 3g card or USB drive from a network, allowing you to get get internet on a laptop anywhere, in the utility you can send text messages like you would on a phone.

Also, nokia software allows you to send texts by typing on your pc when your phone is plugged in via usb/bluetooth. Not sure about other manufacturrs, but i guess they may do similar
