I have windows XP Pro. I have Internet Explorer 7. This has been going on for a while and I dont know what to do, so if you can head me in the right direction I will totally appreciate it. Okay...
When I start my computer, I get a message on the lower right hand side of the screen that says I do not have automatic updates on and that my security software can't be detected. I proceed to turn on automatic updates manually to find out it is turned on already... When I try to go to the microsoft update page I am getting a cannot load page. However I can access other webpages. So my computer cannot update. I have adaware version 8.0 (which has been going great until the update problem) and I am unable to download the updates for that... I get a message that the server connection failed. The same message appears when i try to update my anti-virus software...I uninstalled the anti-virus and I am unable to download the software again... I am unable to perform ANY updates....
Also, when I open internet explorer, I can view my homepage (yahoo.com) however when i perform a search and click on the found webpage, I am automatically taken to another weird site... while this is going on... I am getting numerous ad pop ups that are maximized windows...when i close these windows I am forced to close internet explorer all together.... This happens every single time...
The other aspects of my computer work as I can tell.... no issues with automatically restarting or anything like that...
So any information can really help me out... Thanks in advance!
