  1. "Close out" or "Walled" because its just not that much fun getting shacked on every wave.

    When its blown out or choppy because the waves aren't very good when they're bumpy.

    Don't go out for a day or two after it rains to avoid all the bacteria in the water.

    Flat conditions, because I actually like to surf when I paddle out.


  2. a nasty wipeout on a reefbreak

    unreliable spots

    bull sharks

    being hit by your surfboard's fin (unguarded)

    your leash got you trapped somewhere in the reef

    you surf a spot that is not within your skill level
