What conditions would you want to keep .........?

What conditions would you want to keep constant in your experiment on aggressive behavior in mice while you vary the single independent variable of choice(number of mice)?

I guess the idea is that you alter density of mice to see if that affects the display of agressive behavior between them?

If this is the case, then you would want to keep all other variables constant such as:

Gender of mice

Age of mice

Size of mice

Environmental conditions (i.e., the container holding the mice, time of day, lighting, temperature, sound)

Food availability per mouse

Genetic lineage of mice

Basically anything that could affect aggressive behavior in a mouse.
