  1. 1/2" EMT will work just fine.  Blue Karlon conduit (also called Smurf Pipe) may be easier to work with.

Do you really need conduit?  Conduit is not common in residential installations.  Would jacketed cable do the job and be easier to install?

  2. You don't need conduit inside the house - the cable sheathing is sufficient.  Conduit is used to protect the cable from the elements or if they are exposed.

  3. Call a proessional electrician, conduit is seldom used in residential  properties for a cost reason.  The size would be 1/2"

  4. Use of conduit in residential wiring through walls is overkill. Just use your required wire sizes with 14/2wg or 12/2 wg. NM type. In the case if 15 Amp load would be 14 guage minimum  wiring.

  5. The only reason to use conduit in a residence is to anticipate some change in the wiring down the road.  You can't re-pull a romex cable (hardly ever, anyway).

What are the 4 - 15A wires for?  Lighting?

  6. No building code I know calls for this unless you have metal studs. Just drill the studs and pass the wires through. Should be close to center of stud and you could use metal strips to protect from nailing into the wires. Same in plumbing to protect from screws or nails peircing.
