  1. i have seen many constellations like big bear, Orion (containing a figure of a hunter), Leo (containing bright stars outlining the form of a lion), Scorpius (a scorpion), and Crux (a cross).

  2. It is my hope and prayer that these references will be able to help you in your quest for information...

I also love stargazing. In NYC on a clear night in summer, you should be able to see:

    Ursa Major

    Ursa Minor

    Draco

    Cygnus

    Lyra

    Hercules

    Bootes

    Sagitta

    Ophiuchus

    Scorpius

    Sagittarius

    Serpens

    Delphinus

    Canes Venatici

    Corona Borealis

    Cepheus

    Cassiopeia

    Libra

ADDED: Whoops - almost forgot Aquila

AND Coma Berenices - if it's dark enough

and perhaps the edges of a few more. Enjoy!
