  1. According to Yahoo:

    There will not be an answer button on questions that have closed. Each question has a 4-day open period during which people can post answers. A question is closed to additional answers when a best answer is selected or when it's put to a community vote. Once a best answer is determined, an Open Question changes status and becomes a Resolved Question.

    Even after a question is resolved you can continue to contribute to Answers by commenting on and rating the best answer.*

    *Ratings become available once you reach Level 2.


  2. It's when the ? has enough answers and the ? asker has picked a best answer or the communutiy has choen a best answer!

  3. because you probably didn't answer before the asker picked a best answer or it went to a vote

  4. A resolved question means that either the asker has already selected the best answer, or that time to offer an answer has expired and the best answer has been selected by voters. When that happens, you can no longer provide an answer, but you can leave a comment.

  6. Once a best answer is chosen, it is done.
