Question:

What constitutes cruelty to animals?

I contacted our local spca and they said they cant' do anything without physical proof. My sorta manager decided since I was becoming a problem that the traps would be moved to a part of the building I could not access. So now there's nothing I can do since I can't even get into the building where the traps are now.

I used to love working for Habitat for Humanity and I loved what they stand for, but the fact remains is that the people in charge at least where I am are anything but humane and it makes me not want to work there anymore.

Anyway, thanks for the answers.

  1. In my city you can not keep a trapped animal in a cage more than a specific number of hours or it is considered cruelty. Find out what if any regulations you have from animal control in your area. Then report the abuse to the proper authorities. A fine for the company would be hitting them where it hurts, the pocket book. I personally would not work for a company that takes pleasure in suffering.

  2. Wow That is just terrible , and its hard to believe that people can be so cruel . Its the same thing for me when i see people leaving their pets in side their vehicals with the windows rolled up , on a hot summer day . If i was you , i would get in touch with some one in your area , weather it be a ombudsman , the media , mayor , some one of political stature, and I am sure it will be taken care of . Just report it  and keep your name annonymous . My sister works for forestry and wild life here in canada , and she would be very disturbed to hear this story.

Here in canada we have a tv show called "Market Place ", and their main purpose is to find , expose ,and interogate business's which are either a fraud , or are not doing the job in which their business is responsible to carry out . They would be all over this company and either the situation would be corrected , or the administration would be sued , loose their business licience , and someone else would take over .

Really , what it comes down to is the owners , and the people responsibe for running the business. You are doing the right thing by trying to help them out , I hope this answer was of help to you , and hopefully you'll see a change happen at your work place soon.

  3. Good for you ! You need to make a phone call (over email)

Would it be possible for you to transport and release them out of town?

That's what i did when my dad was trapping so called problem animals.

I drove about a mile for the closest home and let them go.

  4. please keep helping them! giveb them water and food until you call rspca or animal welfare. it is bastar#ly cruel and these animals have feelings and suffer. please speak up for these animals as they cant do it for themselves! this has really upset me. Suffering is awful, think how you would feel. please report it confidentially NOW!  poor animals please let me know if you report it and that they are ok? are they trapped now in pain? oh god. Please urgently make these calls now, dont email. make lots of calls anonymously. call just about every animal company going. or give me the details and I will do it now!

  5. I think this is more an issue for your local Fish and Wildlife Department.

Wild animals are NOT TO BE CAGED. Your employer will probably be fined.

Go and look around for some contact information on this website - the animals need help.

  6. First of all, bless you for caring about these animals.  Leaving the animals in cages without food or water is equivalent to starving them and causes dehydration.  Forcing them to endure those hot temperatures is also an act causing undo suffering.

I would report it (you can do it anonymously).

I am including links I found on animal cruelty to help you state to your co-workers that they are committing cruelty to animals.
