  2. When you can look back in retrospect at your childhood and have a feeling of love and warmth. Knowing that you were loved and well taken care of.

    I look back on my childhood and I have an overwhelming sense of love and security.

    I smile when I think of my childhood.

  3. - Not ever being beat.

    - Not ever being neglected or ignored.

    - Not ever being raped, molested or otherwise sexually abused.

    - Having loving parents.

    - Getting lots of candy.

    - Being 'allowed' to explore yourself, be yourself and be loved for that.

    - Getting along with other kids (i.e. being liked, accepted or popular amongst your peers and classmates, etc)

    - Having your needs met (clothing, food, shelter, warmth, etc).

    - Being protected and feeling safe.

    and on and on and on..

    Ask yourself what would have made YOUR childhood better, and that will constitute as a good childhood.

  4. depends on what u compare it to ,at the time i accepted my childhood and enjoyed it, later i was told (by well meaning people ) it must have been difficult ,

    by age 9: refugee camp,  lived in another country with another family for 6 months ,twice. immigrant ,school in 3 countries with three different languages ,piece a cake!!!  i positively love my childhood .and some people still find problems with it !!!

  5. If you end up healthy and well adjusted. It helps if you are college educated and have good morales too.

  7. I guess it depend on what your idea of what good is. I think it would be just having a family who actually loves and supports you on what you do and think. Having things that you need, not want!

  9. For me it was getting proper training in being respectful and polite, spending time with family and friends, camping, picnics, pets, learning to work hard but knowing when to relax and have fun. Knowing that i was loved and taken care of was the best for me. I wouldn't trade growing up in my family for anything.

  15. Not being molested for one. Then having everything you need. Going on at least 3 good vactions. Having positive role models. Being able to enjoy yourself without worrying about your family's finances, or personal dramas. Having a good perception of life and learning the basic skills needed to one day be independent. Always try to take time to get to know whom ever you worship. Work the knowledge of you belef into your life. It provides a great source of council.

  17. In my opinion what constitutes having a good childhood is:

    1. A good support system aka a loving and supportive family.

    2. where having material things don't matter

    3. growing up to be happy, healthy and successful.  success as in you love what you're doing in life and you're accomplishing your personal goals.  or success in relationships.
