In case you're not familiar with a penny war here's a rundown...

We're doing it at my college dorm so we're setting up the different floors against each other.

Basically you have a container for each floor. Pennies earn you 1 point and silver coins and dollars bills earn you negative 10 points. Obviously you want to put other money into other floors' containers and then the most pennies into your own. At the end of the fundraiser you tally everything up and find the winner.

What containers do you suggest to hold the coins in for 12 floors? Also, I'd like to take the coins at the end of the week to get it cashed in, ya know? What do you recommend for showing the progress of the groups?

  1. The large pretzel of cheese ball container work well. A graph at the main entrance can help as well.
