What contributes to the phenomoneon of ghost $hit?

You know, when you drop a big t**d and then look in the bowl and it is no longer there even though you didn't flush. I just can't figure it out.

Well more than likely it's the content of your "bowel movement."  More than likely there's NOT a lot of fat and it is heavier than the water so it sinks down into the toilet bowel.  Now depending on how heavy the "Gost" is when it's dropped into the bowel . . . may cause the "Ghost" to go further into the tank or pipe . . . where it can't be seen.

    Let's look at the structure of the toilet bowl ->

    The "Ghost" is probably resting at the Trap or Weir area or has passed both.
