Psychopharmacology helps discover and develop new drugs to aid the mind.  The drugs we have today lack in many ways--like antipsychotics can cause massive weight gain, SSRI's can cause suicide, etc.  In the future we may also develop drugs the enhance the mind of people that do not have any mental aliments.
