  1. ~recycle more

    ~don't waste electricity

~don't throw rubbish into water bodies

~don't burn stuff bad for enviro too often

    etc!

  2. Absolutely nothing.  You can't "prevent" what has already happened.  The best we can do is minimize it.

  3. I use less of everything than almost anyone I know, and have for 25 years before the enviro-n**i's told me I HAD too.

You don't have to recycle as much if you don't buy things that need recycling. I keep my well insulated house, with L.E.D. lighting at a temperature that polar bears would feel comfortable. I use about 270 KWH/ mo of electricity.

It's good for the environ met, and excellent on the pocketbook.

  4. Nothing. global warming is a natural process that occurs on earth. i'm sure we participate in it a tad bit but, the waste that may harm the atmosphere that humans produce has only been around for not even 300 years, if that. the planet has been doing a 'heat and ice' cycle for millions of years. humans do not have THAT big affect on the planet.

  5. There is no such contribution available.  If we all stopped using energy, the damage would not be absorbed by the normal environment for about one thousand five hundred years.  Yet, in an effort to reduce global warming by reducing our consumption of petroleum, we have chosen to mow down the very forests that absorb carbon dioxide in an effort to grow low carbon fuel sources.  Odd, but predictable.  The fifteen hundred years may become two thousand or more.

Globalisation  has increased the demand for petroleum based energy and indicates that petroleum will be consumed at an ever increasing rate.   From a planetary perspective, of course.

So, to decrease your carbon footprint, you must stop using energy.  Period.

Switching from plastic bags to reusable grocery sacks is a joke.

Do not turn on your lights.  Do not drive your car.  Do not run your washing machine.

Do all of this, and the rest of the world will continue to suck petrol out of the ground and burn it.  You will not do this, but, even if you did, you would only slow the acceleration of demand for energy.

The current global reality is that a lot of really poor people suddenly have a chance to find some minor prosperity.  Their prosperity is dependent on energy.  They will chase that prosperity, global warming be damned.

Americans were in this boat about a century ago.  They did what people generally do. They chased prosperity.

A "global conscience" will not work.  Simply put, no thing will.

The carbon crisis will not slow, no matter what.  Being more frugal will do no more than reducing the acceleration of demand.  The demand for energy will not slow, nor will it stabilize.  It will grow.  It will grow increasingly.

A reduction of the rate of acceleration is the best we can hope for.

    Reduce carbon?  No way!

Help?  Only if your idea of "help" is to support the political futures of those who propose a reduction of carbon emissions.

Al Gore is a century too late.  He aggrandizes a history invisible until recently.  He announces the end of civilization, while suggesting that the end may not be inevitable.  He is an optimist.

  6. Through another book on the fire. Obviously no one is reading 'em anyhow.

  7. I'm going to eat more methane producing cows.

  8. a.Do not keep on refreshing your pc, because right after you refresh it, your cpu produces heat.

b.Stop using to much electricity-everything that is runned by electricity produces heat, you may use them, but not too much, esp. the fridge.

c.Walk. Walking keeps you fit and prevents more heating, I'm not saying not to use your car, I mean to walk when your destination is near.

d.Use some search engines for more info or read books.

  9. Whenever I go to our vicinity's supermarket, I bring the old plastic bag the supermarket used from the last time I bought something from the supermarket. So, if other people has consumed 10 shopping bags from 10 times of shopping, I had only consumed 1 shopping bag from 10 times of shopping. Smart, isn't it?

  10. i started recycling, i use solid shampoo from lush.com wich saves plenty of plastic bottles a year, when i buy somthing small i dont take a bag, i reycle all my old school work and home work

i think those things are not too drastic or hard to do

    anybody could do them!
