  2. It's one of the world's longest rivers. The source is deep in northern Africa. There is currently a dam at Aswan. Perhaps that is the answer to your question. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you mean...

  3. There are actually two dams at Aswan the first is the Low Dam built early in the 20th century. The High  Dam was finished in 1970 and the reservoir behind it, Lake Nasser, was full by 1976. See Wikipedia article on 'Aswan Dam' for details.
