  1. 1080i

  2. 1080i is the best thats why its nick name is full dvd while 720 is okay and will work fine some tvs only go to 720p anyway so if you have one than the 1080i will be no real differences until you upgrade to 1080i

  3. HDMI is not directly related to resolution. In other words there is no such thing as a 720p HDMI or 1080i HDMI cable. ALL HDMI cables are capable of carrying 1080p resolution. If buying one look for Category 2, HDMI 1.3 rated cables. You can get one for about $15 from Monoprice.com. DON"T buy Monster (or any cable costing more than $30-$40 for a 3-6 ft cable) ... they are a waste of money.

That said, HDTV is ALL 720p or 1080i, and Blu-ray is 1080p unless scaled down to a lower resolution (The higher the number the better, and p is better than i).

Given the choice between 720p and 1080i use 720p on a 720p/1080i HDTV, and 1080i on a 1080p HDTV for the best picture. There are exceptions (depending on the video processor/deinterlacer in the HDTV) but generally the preceeding is the best approach.

  4. go for a qed hdmi cable better quality and doesnt cost a fortune about £30 or if you have the money then go for a chord cable about £60-£80

  5. the 720p because it is cheaper! ;P

Seriously, HDMI cord is the same either way.

As with all digital cords: if it works at all - it is probably working perfectly. Don't buy expensive monster cables (for anything). Given a choice, get the shortest cord that does the job.
