Question:

What cords hook up a VCR to a freestanding TV?

I've really been in the mood lately to watch all my VHS' again and I still have my Samsung VCR however it's been so long I forgot what I'll need to hook it up. (There aren't any cords with it and I'm not sure where I placed them) Can I just use a coaxial cable or are there special cords for VCR's? I'm not blonde or dumb, but am a little slow. Haha.

Thank you for your help!

  1. coax will be fine

  2. It all depends on what type of inputs you have available on your TV set and what outputs you have on your VCR. If you have a composite (video) output, most VCRs do, that would be a better way than RF (coaxial cable). You'll also need an audio cable or two depending on if it is stereo or not. If your TV is older and doesn't have a composite input you'll have to use RF.
