  1. If you've got a decent bit of bacon to start with you shouldn't need to do anything to it except fry it in it's own fat.

  2. Bacon in slad is best made crispy.

  3. Chop the bacon, raw and fry it at low heat with a mixture of oil and water, in a deep pan.

Add diced parboiled potato to the frying bacon, after 2-3 minutes.

As the water evaporates, add two chopped onions and keep frying until the onions are soft.

Now add sliced button mushrooms and cook for a further 5 minutes.

Remove from the heat. and drain excess fluid.

Take 3 eggs and crack into a mixing bowl. Add 2 Tablespoon cold water and whisk until creamy and there is a surface covering of fine bubbles

Heat an oiled pan until the oil starts to give off that light blue haze.

Pour in the whisked eggs and then the bacon mix in the centre. Once the base of the omelet is solidified, transfer the pan to the grill and cook until the omelet rises and lightly browns..... you know.....give it a suntan!

    Fold in half and serve.

There you have a form of Bauern Omelet! Eat and enjoy!

  4. I can't think of much to add to the bacon per se, but my local pub/restaurant does a fabulous salad bowl with bacon, chopped chicken breast and potato salad, all mixed with tomatoes, cucumber and whatever salad leaves seem to be going. It's never exactly the same twice, but is always excellent.

  5. you can add:

    ranch

    cheese

    chicken bits

  6. Add beans

  7. Shallow fry it in small pieces until crispy, in virgin olive oil, garlic puree, finely chopped chilli, and spring onion, and some black pepper. This should liven it up a bit. You could also put some small croutons in the salad to add a little crunch to it.

    Enjoy.

  8. Egg!

  9. You could always add a little garlic and onion powder to it, but I personally would leave the bacon as is and put the seasonings for the entire salad in the dressing.

  10. Pair it up with some grilled onions. That would be good in a salad, or beans. Could even scramble up with some eggs, for a sandwich.

  11. a tiny bit of chilli power when frying, mmm, lovely

  12. oh, u wudnt wana ruin it!!

    but

nah i say leav it...un less choc suase..........................yum

  13. nothing bacon is perfect on it's own

  14. Sprinkle it with paprika before grilling.  Mmmmm...

  15. Add a bit of pepper or paprika.

  16. Fry it or griddle it instead of grilling.

  17. Maronite it in a zip lock bag filled with salt, pep, crushed red pep, vinegar, water, and brown sugar for about 30 minutes.

its some kick *** bacon on the grill!

  18. Chop up the bacon before you fry it.

Add it to pan frying onions and green peppers and add to rice, or pasta, or salad or cous cous.

    Very versitile meat indeed.

Just do not invite the Rabbi to dinner...

  19. mash potato

  20. Cook it with a little bit of onions.

  21. Use streaky bacon and grill it until it's crisp. Don't drain off the excess fat but just crumble it over warm new potatoes and add a vinaigrette dressing and chopped spring onions.

  22. well all depends if its ordinary or flavored if its ordinary add a little brown sugar to give it a kik if its flavored add a little more butter

  23. You could add salt and herbs.

  24. season it plus cook it really well until crispy
