I would like to know if there is anything I can do. This guy backed into my parked car, and he did not have insurance, but he agreed to pay for it, I had to get 3 estimates, and I did that. He had to look them over and the next thing I hear he is in basic training with the military and don't hear another word from him. I turned the report over to the state and they said they cant do anything until he is discharged or is on leave for more than 30 days. PLEASE is there anything else I can do?

Thank You

  1. No matter what they say you ALWAYS get their insurance information. Just turn it in to your insurance company, depending on what state you live in you could have uninsured motorist property damage which could reduce or eliminate your deductible. Your insurance company can subrogate, collect from the responsible party/insurance company, and you could get your deductible back.

  2. You could take hom to small claims court.  There is usually a dollar limit around 3500.00.  It is kind of a pain to do all the paperwork but it is probably your best bet if he won't pay.

  3. call your insurance company, let them sort it out.

should have called the police then, oh well.

  4. I suppose you can get ahold of the JAG and have the military garnish some pay from him...

But, you pay insurance for a reason, so let their lawyers take care of you.
