I family friend of ours was recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. We are trying to think of ideas for a fundraiser to raise money for their family (with three elementary aged children.) We live in a fairly small city, about an hour outside of Indidnapolis. Please let me know any suggestions you may have! Thanks!

  1. An Avon Fund-Raiser is a fun, easy, and profitable experience. Having an Avon fund-raiser can quickly raise the funds you need and you can choose the type of fund-raiser most appropriate for your goals and participants.

The biggest advantage of an Avon fund-raiser is selling useful products from a nationally known brand name that people will appreciate spending money on for your cause. Parents would rather purchase bubble bath, sunscreen, lotion, seasonal gifts, and other needed products versus over-priced candy bars.

Types of Avon fund-raisers I provide include:

    • A simple single-page flyer, featuring easy-to-sell products on one side and an order form on the other.

    • A full brochure, offering all of the products that many people are all to familiar with.

With the exception of certain licensed products in the full brochure that have fixed earnings on each product sold, you may earn up to 40% of your total fund-raising sales amount. It would only take 10 people selling $15 worth of Avon products to 10 customers to reach total sales of $1,500 and the 40% earnings profit margin. In special circumstances, depending upon the type of fund-raiser, number of participants, purpose of the fund-raiser, and other factors, earnings levels and higher percentage of earnings may be adjusted to your group’s advantage.

I will be with you every step of the way to minimize the amount of work you have to do and to maximize your profits.

  2. you could do a benefit dinner, or a dance at a local church or firehall. Do an all night dance. or something with some entertainment always works

try a walk a thon or neighbor hood get togethers, yard sales, bingo stuff, something with the local community they like to help out others.

  3. Silent Auction

    Skate-a-thon

    Mini golf outing

  4. Bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies,.......or make some crafts (look in the internet for ideas), ....do baby sitting, cleaning services (charging less than the usual so people prefer you)........

  5. Consider a "Murder Mystery" dinner theater (or party). Get a group of volunteers to be the characters in the "play." Better yet, see if your local community theater group would help. There are many ways to do it. But the audience has to guess who the murderer is at the end of the evening. They are lots of fun. People pay a cover charge to come and/or you can take more donations during the party. Just google "murder mystery party" and you'll find loads of websites with ideas... some free... some you purchase for a nominal fee. When you look into the kinds you pay for, be sure to mention it is a charity fundraiser. You might be able to get a discount from their commercial fee.

Good luck to you and your friend.

  6. car wash... but have the good looking girls doing the carwashing...

  7. 1. fund raiser chocolate bars - order them and sell for $1 a piece. its easy to carry around and everyone likes chocolate.

    2. money raffle- buy a roll of tickets and sell tickets: 1 fpr $1.00, 3 for $2.00, and 10 for $5.00. after a given time (2 weeks to a month) have a drawing and give some of the money to the winning ticket. (if you sell 1000 then give 100 to the winner for example)

  8. I have done many fundraisers for various families and organizations.  Plan an event with food music and prizes. I started out with donation letters to take to various businesses for donations for a Chinese auction.  We would find a hall or school cafeteria or gym, you can usually get these donated. Various restaurants and stores will donate food.  Sometimes local bands or DJ's will donate time when it is for a worthy cause. Local radio stations should broadcast the event .  If you think this is an option for you, email me and I will help you. This is a fairly easy and profitable endeavor.

  9. I work with a company that has several low cost, high profit fundraising programs available, including one that is internet based that costs you nothing to set up and use! It takes just a few minutes to get up and running, and you may be able to get a mention about the reason your are trying to raise funds in your local news media to help you get the web address out to the public. Email me at ds_music_now@yahoo.com if you'd like more info - good luck!
