My husband and I are trying for a baby. I have started taking prenatals as I have heard taking them while trying is helpful. Is there anything else that could improve our chances of getting pregnant?

  1. Prenatal vitamins do not help you get pregnant.  They provide the necessary vitamins and minerals so that, should you become pregnant, you have the right stuff to give to the developing baby.

To improve your chances of getting pregnant, make love every other day.  This gives your husband's 'army' a chance to repopulate the ranks between sessions.  Also, after a session, lay on your back with your legs in the air (knees bent is okay) for at least 30 minutes.  This helps the 'army' to gather around your cervix and find their way inside.

    Good luck!

  2. Pre-natals are an excellent way to boost your vitamin and mineral intake. In fact, I started taking these in my teenage years as they are more specialised in dealing with the needs of women than many multivitamins. You'll need to continue these all the way up until baby is born, and beyond if you intend to breastfeed.

Another tip: eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit, freh veg and LOTS of water. Water will also play a big part in helping your body to produce lots of EWCM come the time you ovulate, helping to transport the sperm to reach your egg!

Some advice for you and your husband:

Heat is damaging to sperm. Loose fitting pants and boxer shorts may be beneficial if you work or exercise in a warm environment or if you sit for prolonged periods. Cotton is always best for underwear, this goes for you too!

Avoid drinking more than one alcoholic beverage per day. Excessive alcohol consumption decreases male fertility.

Smoking decreases male and female fertility and may lower the number of fertilized eggs .

Some over the counter medicines also affect the production of sperm and reduce the sperm count, consult a doctor if you are unsure or best of all: avoid altogether.

  3. Watch signs of fertility (cervical fluid, body temperature) and figure out when you are ovulating based on the number of days in your cycle.  I also conceived using ovulation kits during my cycle.  You can get these at the drug store.  Good luck!

  4. try for a baby every other day. a lot of people conceive by doing this  Good Luck to you!!  :o)

  5. Figuring out when you ovulate is the best way. You can buy an ovulation predictor from a pharmacy, you can go by your cervical mucous, or basal temperature.

Having s*x while you're ovulating gives you a good chance of becoming pregnant. Good luck!

  6. I guess just have more s*x.

  7. well you might already know this but you could stop using a condom that would really increase your chances of getting pregnant.
