  3. fruit kabobs. fruit tasts great when its on a grill!

  4. Soy burgers or shrimp (maybe on skewers)

  5. Hey girl I got an idea...

    shhhhh,

Make every single thing at the barbecue vegan and knowone will no the difference.

  6. You could try to make shish kebabs with lots of veggies and tofu for your vegan friend, and just make regular shish kebabs for everybody else, or you could encourage everyone to eat the tofu ones if they want.  Try and find a recipe online or you could get a great tofu cookbook called "This Can't Be Tofu!"  That would probably have at least one.  You should ask your friend if they like meatless hot dogs.  They are available in almost literally EVERY supermarket, even Wal-Mart.  Those aren't MY favorite, but a lot of other people really like them.  And of course, how could I forget, veggie burgers!  You can try to find a recipe on the Internet or in a vegetarian cookbook.  Or maybe, if you're lucky, you could probably find some homemade ones.  (I've even been able to find some at a vitamin/supplement store.)  Also, serve grilled vegetables and salad with vegan dressing.  You could also try some baked beans, or Bush's new 'Grillin' Beans,' if they have a vegetarian version.

  7. Veggie burgers would work too.

  8. You could MAKE him/her bring their own food!  ZING!!!

  9. Ask your friend for some ideas, and that way you can find out what he/she likes and dislikes.

  10. Hey.

What i suggest as a vegan, is that you buy some vegetable protein burgers avalible at most health stores such as holland and barret, you can also find, veggie sausages, and lots more stuff that might intrest you.

There is also lots of veggie burgers now avalible in supermarkets, just look down by the frozen section. Sainsburys do quite a wide choice.

And you could always try making your own vegan burgers.

    SUMMER BURGERS

    Ingredients

    1 packet firm tofu, drained

100g/4oz sun dried tomatoes, finely chopped

    30ml/2tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped

    2.5ml/½tsp mustard powder

    30ml/2tbsp soy sauce

    5ml/1tsp tomato purée

    25g/1oz fresh breadcrumbs

salt and freshly ground black pepper

    15ml/1tbsp olive oil

    1 medium onion, finely chopped

    1 clove garlic, crushed

    100g/4oz mushrooms, finely chopped

    seasoned flour

    Method

    1. Mash the tofu thoroughly in a bowl, with a fork.

    2. Add the sun dried tomatoes, coriander, mustard powder, soy sauce, tomato purée, breadcrumbs, salt and freshly ground black pepper. Leave to one side.

    3. Meanwhile, in a small frying pan, gently heat the oil and fry the onion, garlic and mushrooms until soft.

    4. Add to the tofu mixture and allow to cool.

    5. If the mixture is too wet to hold together, add sufficient flour until the mixture can hold its shape.

    6. Shape the mixture into six large burgers, or ten small, coat with seasoned flour.

    7. Chill until ready to use.

8.Brush each burger lightly with oil. Barbecue each side until cooked.

    9. Serve in a bread bun with melted cheese (*omit for vegans) and salad, or serve with barbecue sauce.

  11. Veggie Tacos

  12. I just want to say that I think you are a great friend for being understanding enough to make things available for your friend. Some people just don't see the point, which is very frustrating.

  13. Grilled veggies (peppers, mushrooms, corn, etc.)

Serve with grains (rice, pilaf, couscous....)

  14. vegan hot dogs

    tofu pups

    smart dogs

    garden burgers

  15. Whatever you do, make sure you cook their food apart from the meat. I saw a vegan go mental at a barbecue once because of that.
