What could I use instead of cardboard?

I am going to construct a box to house a diy projector. The instructions say to use cardboard or plywood. It just has to be a material that is thin and stiff. What are my alternatives?

  1. I would try to use sheet metal. You can buy it at any local hardware store, and cut it easily using tin snips. Just make sure to de-burr or sand/grind the edges so you don't cut yourself. Good luck!

  2. I suggest you go to

Cool project I would use wood myself as it is strong and easily constructed as well as rugged. Plexiglass was an interesting idea but it can be a bear to work with and will not keep the light in the box unless you cover it or paint it!!

    Good Luck

  3. Plexiglas
