What could I use to cross the creek without getting wet?

-There's a creek at my friend's house that we cross frequently to go to places on the other side. The one problem with this is that in order to cross the creek we have to walk through it and get our shoes wet. (This is an obvious annoyance)

-The creek is about 20-25 feet wide and is only a foot or a foot and a half deep. We built a primitive bridge out of stones piled up upon each other, but I do not think that will last long.

-What could my friend and I use to build a bridge (or something else) that would allow us to walk across the creek without getting wet?

  1. use pie

  2. Rope swing

  3. you need a bridgeand there only 3 kinds that are feasible...1.stepping stonnes (big rocks). 2 a wooden bridge made from  2 by 6's or 8...and finally 3 a rope bridge ties to trees at both sides so you have two handles to use and  join handles with loops every 4 ft then lay like 2ft  or 1 ft lengths of wood in the loops so youo have something to walk on and hold onto

  4. do what we did...get your brother in law to bring his dozer around and pull a good sized tree from the woods(limbs stripped)and lay it across from bank to bank.....once it's comfortably in place(no rocking),,nail some boards across to walk on(high tech!)....you can even nail on a hand rail to one side if you really want to be classy.......barring a flood, your foot bridge might be around longer than you are...good luck.

  5. A bridge!

  6. Get some old milk crates, any two pair of things that will support your weight if you flip it over and stand on the bottom (preferably matching so they are the same height. flip them over so the opening is facing down. Get a length of rope or heavy string and tie each end on the opposite edges of the bottom of the crate, so that the loop you create will be high enough so that you can reach them comfortably while standing on the bottoms of the milk crates.

To walk, put a foot on each crate, and grab the ropes, one in each hand. As you lift your foot to take a step, pull up on the rope so that the milk crate stays next to your foot as it moves forward, and then release as you lower your foot. I recommend practicing on dry land before you try it in the creek.

The holes in the milk crate will let the water flow through it and make it easier to move around. The wide opening of the milk crate will provide stability and should help you navigate the creek bottom especially if it's uneven or has a lot of rocks and stuff in it.

Or heck, if you find enough milk crates, just flip them over and lay them across the creek, you should only need a dozen or so. Not exactly the prettiest thing but again if nobody cares what it looks like, you have your bridge.
