Hello!

I'll be in Munich on 30th October...

I would like to know what I could visit in the afternoon.

I'll arrive about at 12:00 and in the evening I'll have to be at Zenith (Lilienthalallee, 29)...

because I think that Zenith is out of centre, I would be happy if someone could tell me if there is a cheap hotel near the Zenith and how I can go to the centre (bus, metro, etc...).

  1. it is true I work for Allianz here in the states and the dome is ridiculously large.  try the hoffbrahaus for beer the glockenspiel is beautiful and the ratskeller for food.

  2. I'll second the recommendation on visiting the Deutsche Museum. It is a great place. I lived in Munich for three years and there are all kinds of great places to visit. Getting around is easy on the U-Bahn (subway), Strasse Bahn (street cars) and even by bicycle. have fun, enjoy the beer.

  3. HI,

Lilienthalallee is about half-way to Fröttmaning, where you can visit the new Allianz Arena, if you're interested in sports. The stadium is truly gigantic!

As for the hotels, you can find cheap hotels in Munich here:

And for how to get to Zenith, you can type in the address from where you are and from where you want to go at the website of the Munich public transport and they will give you a schedule which underground or bus to use and what times and even how much it costs:

  4. Hey bsbeta,

I don't know much about Munich. Munich has a lot, but I think the "Deutsche Museum" is the best all over Germany. It's a technical Museum and you will see Me 262, Ju 52, V1 rocket, and lot other technical equipment. There are physical experiments you can play with. If you are in Munich it is place Deutsche Museum is a must for intelligent persons.

I don't know Zenith, but I have looked to a map.

Zenith is out but not really out of center.

There were the yellow 11 is, it must be. Deutsche Museum is where the red circle is. I guess you walk about half an hour or you take the bus. Public transport system in Germany is expensive but good.

for cheap hotel that will be a problem. Munich belongs to the most expensive cities in Germany. Take Yahoo.de and look for "budget hotel München" I found this one:

    http://www.easypalace.de/index.html

It is in the center of the city not far from Zenith and not far from Deutsche Museum but I don`t belief it to be a pradise. Look at the prices:

"Youth Hotel Betten ab € 14,90, Einzelzimmer ab € 50, Doppelzimmer ab € 69 online billig buchen"

    Greetings fom Hamburg, Germany

    Heinz

  5. If you are old enough to recall the 1972 Olympics, you might be interested in visiting the Olympics games site.  Most of the things can be seen for free though if you want to go into the stadium (the largest plastic object in the world at the time), there is an admission fee.  The Bavarian State Museum (Bayerische Staat Museum) has a lot of beautiful items (fine jewelry boxes, art, armor, etc.) and might be something you can enjoy.  Even walking around Marienplatz and looking at the stores and having a snack is worth it.
