  1. For ETHANOL: The best I know of is a praire grass called SWITCHGRASS, it has the greatest bulk density of organic matter per acre which means more gas per acre. Another option is CORN but it has a much lower bulk density per acre. Brazil is entirely independent of gasoline thanks to their number 1 export of SUGAR CANE.

For BIO-DIESEL: no plants are required the oil waste from McDonald's fryer could be sent to a refining plant to create bio-diesel. That oil could be corn oil, canola, palm or anything.

  2. Current research is on non-edible oilseeds from plants like Jatropha, which grow in arid or semi-arid zones and do not compete with human or animal food crops for space and water.

  3. Nearly every plant could be used to produce bio-fuels.

The main ones are corn (E-5), saw-grass (E-10), and soybeans (B-100)

  4. I understand your riddle.A nuclear plant or a tree which is a plant. How about grass.

  5. Canola is used to make bio-diesel.
