What could be causing Green Pond?

We just installed a 165 Gallon (preformed) 24" deep pond kit with 3 tier waterfall included. We have a Aquaforce 2000 solids handling pump along with a Microfalls filter and Ultraklear 4000 gallon UV Clarifier. I have nothing in the pond but the water &some tumble river stone in the water fall sections. What I wondering is why in less than 6 days my water has started going green. The pond gets about 6-8 hours of sun (mainly afternoon), and has NO plants or vegitation anywhere around it.

I was told to run the system for at least 2 weeks before trying to add plants or fish to establish the correct balance to support both.

  1. Definately algae, Id highly reccommend you buying a 10g packet of viresco as its amazing, works by removing all Nitrate from your pond and starts to work within a few days, once nitrate removed blanket weed and algae dies off and your left with a crystal clear pond for the whole year, apply in spring at start of growth season for best results,
You can purchase this product from Viresco so just google it in for direct access to shop website, alternataly you can find company on ebay.
I had same reacurring problem with my pond and after several failed attempts from shop brought products came accros this and it really does work!!
    Good Luck.
