I drive a 99 Mountaineer. Within the last week and a half, my dashboard and my taillights have gone out. It happened again last night. This will be the third time that I have replaced the fuse.

  3. HI

something to check .. would be the license plate light and or do you have a plug for a trailer some times those can get cut or wore through and cause a intermediate short.

    good luck

  4. pedal has the right idea.

  5. u have a ground short...the fuse blows to keep the wires from burning up...u need to have mechanic fix it before electrical system goes poof

  6. Most likely, it's a short.  Follow the wiring up the steering column to the fuse box.  Check the connection to your dash control light switch and check your leads from the brake pedal to the firewall.  It's probably inside the car rather than in the leads going to the back.
