  1. ferrets are just naturally itchy creatures I wouldn't worry much if i were you. The worst it could be is adrenal disease but unless she is losing fur that is unlikely. If you use wood shavings for bedding remove that. Also you need to wash her hammocks with natural laundry detergent and only a little bit of natural softener. other stuff even baby detergent is to harsh and can make them itchy. Could also be ear mites. For that you can clean her ears with olive oil or vegetable oil. just use cotton balls. Also do not bathe more than once or twice a year. this dries out their skin and makes their odor stronger. Also if you use cat litter don't. Switch to paper litter like yesterday's news available at petsmart.

  2. Fleas. You're poor little ferret can have fleas.

She can have a disease maybe. I'm not an expert - But it could be fleas, lice, or 1 or 2 tics.

The FLEAS jump on them and bite hard! They're so itchy!

The LICE can bite hard, and jump, but not too high.

The TICS stick their heads in your body and suck blood out til' they explode. You have to be careful with tics - if you pull the tic out - The head could still be in her. And that's never pleasing. It 'Puss-es' alot. You know, the white foam kind of stuff comes out? EW.

Best of luck with you're cute little ferret! =) Hope this helped!

  3. he might need a bath. or hid area might be too dusty. that is probably it. I would know. Ferrets are my thing.

  4. Hi. I own five ferrets and i do ferret rescue. Itching a lot can be a coupel things. Ferrets have dry skin and are more itchy than other animals. if the air in your home is dry because it's summer or because you have it closed up alot to run an a/c that could make him itch more. Get a humidafire or boil a pot of water. Put some spices in it like cinimon, vanillia, and orange peels and it will also make your house smell good though it will also make it a bit hotter.

Unless your ferret has fleas or lice i would not recomend a bath as a bath will dry his skin out more.

It could also be a sign of either adrenal or Insoloma, i can't remember which. So i think your ferret should see a vet as soon as you can.

    Hope this helps
