Question:

What could be causing the feeling on my nose?

Over the last two days I have had the sensation of something touching my nose. It's constant, and it feels sort of like there's a hair laying on my face. So, I keep reaching up to brush my hair out of my face but there's nothing there. It's just on the tip of my nose. It kind of tickles, it's really the exact same feeling as when you get just one loose strand of hair laying across your face.

I did get hit, flat handed, on the nose the night before this. It hurt for like ten minutes then I forgot about it.

I'm training to be a CNA, and I remember a guest speaker saying that sometimes nerve damage can feel like nerve compression. I've never had my nose fall asleep, haha, but I suppose it could almost be that same feeling.

I'm not saying it's nerve damage, I didn't get hit very hard, but I do believe it's possible, and it's the only thing I could think of.

What do you think it is, what should I do for it, and will it go away?

  1. I like the notion that it's related to being bopped on the beezer the night before it started. Like most such oddities, it'll probably self-resolve if you just let it be. A hard strike on the nose could easily have compressed the nerve, but it should recover if left alone.
