What could be causing the loud humming noise in my refrigerator/freezer?

We bought a new house last year and it came with appliances, so they were brand new. Last night, we noticed a loud humming noise coming from the refrigerator/freezer. It sounds like it's coming from the freezer. It's a side by side GE refrigerator.

  1. It's the midget trapped in the freezer, he is humming to try and keep warm.  Let him out!!

  3. There could be something touching the fan in the freezer if it is a frost free type. It circulates air.
