  1. Well there are economical, environmental, social and polical are the main reasons why an organisation needs to change.

    Economical deals with money. If a luxury car dealership sell vehicles that are $100k each and there is a downturn in the economy and people cannot afford to spend their money on unnecessary cars then this business with either have to find a way to change to stay in business or it may survive but profits will be much less during this time. It relates to money issues.

    Environmental change deals more with the surrounding issues that the business has no control over. For example: McDonalds. There is a growing awareness of healthy eating and obesity recently. McDonalds was labelled one of the unhealhiest fast foods you can have. So what did they do... change their menu to include healthier options. People were being more cautious about what they eat so McDonalds changed to keep up with what people want in order to keep it's profits high.

    Social deals more with the industry or area in which a business sets up. Some businesses thrive in a lower economic area while others in affluent areas. If there is a shift in demographics then a business may have to change in order to maintain profits or stay in business.

    Political mainly deals with policy or law changes. Many compies have to comply with certain laws and regulations. They must change or the government would put them out of business or they lose customers because the customers know they can go elsewhere and get better protection by the law.
