Question:

What could be the cause of midcycle cramping?

I had my period on July 13, and today I started getting period-like cramps in my lower back. Does this mean that I am ovulating, have already ovulated or will ovulate? I'm also a little confused because I haven't had EWCM yet. Are there anyother reasons that I could be having the cramps?

  1. I would guess it's ovulation cramps. Today would be CD18, so if your next period is due in about 14 or 15 days, then yes, it's probably ovulation.

Many women don't get EWCM but you can supplement it with PreSeed.  Also (TMI warning) look for it when you wipe after a bowel movement; the contractions can often help bring it down where you can see it.

  2. Your ovulation dates are July 24-29th based on a 28 day cycle. You could still be ovulating if your cycle is longer. As for the cramps, no clue. Im having the same problem

  3. It's probably mittelschmerz, which means that you are ovulating.  I get it too.

  4. when i found out i was pregnant i had cramping with no bleeding for a while and thats the reason i tested.. you should go buy a test you could definitely be preggo

  5. You could be ovulating late. I would not think that you would have back pains from that. Normally I just get a twinge in my ovaries. You are on day 18 now....so it could be anything really.

I don't want to "scare" you by throwing up "possible" things that it could be because it could not be anything. I would suggest if it happens again next month then you should go see a doctor but until it becomes something that happens again I would chalk it up as hormones being crazy.

  6. I think its definitely ovulation cramping. If you are TTC (which I guess you are if you're posting under this category!) then you should definitely BD as much as possible right now to try to have a BFP.

    Dust to ya.
