What could be wrong????

2001 tahoe. drivin home it just died no warning . gas is full lights are bright. like all of a sudden it was not getting any fire.. it will just crankand crank. will not turn over.. any suggetions will be appreciated

Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me.

It could be a number of things,but my first guess would be the fuel pump.There should be a fuse for the fuel pump.That is what I would check first.If that's not it you could get a pressure guage hooked up to be sure.If you are in a quiet environment,you could listen for it.When you first turn the key on,the fuel pump will kick in for a few seconds.You should be able to hear it make a faint whining sound.But I would still check the pressure.

The timing belt could have slipped or broken as well.

cranking is turning over. it could be that the gas filter could be clogged. change it and see if it will start.

if the car was runing and then stoped then timeing belt maby

but if you went out to the car and it wont start you will ned to check for spark and check for fule preshur

broken timing chain/belt. Go to your local auto parts store and get the haynes manual for your car and it will aid you in diagnosing your truck. $20

Check ignition and fuel delivery, if any spark at spark plug,

then try start fluid, then check timing and  belt.
