Question:

What could be wrong with my 04 ford freestar?

When I'm, on any size incline in my 2004 ford freestar van and I take my foot off the brake it rolls backwards when its in drive, and if its on a incline and in reverse and I take my foot off the brake it rolls forward and not just a short distance. The transmission does not hold. What could be causing this? I have taken it to several dealership service departments and they hook it to the computer but it shows nothing wrong. I'm afraid the transmission is going out even though the computer says everything is fine. Service mechanics say that the van thinks its in neutral and its suppose to do that. I find that hard to believe. I have never had a vehicle do this. Can anyone help me before it rolls back or forward while in a gear and hurts someone?

No seriously, here is what is wrong whit your van, its actually quite simple:

Look at the grill of your van, what you will see is a emblem, it should say, FORD. Now notice how they circled the problem for you...
