Question:

What could be wrong with my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder?

I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that won't start. It was running fine back in April, but then my husband deployed and it hasn't been used since. Well, I want to start using it now, but I can't get it to start. It will turn over, but just won't start. The battery is good (I bought it in February, and took it back to where I bought it and had them charge/test it). I also replaced the spark plugs. Going to replace the spark plug wires next, so do you think that is the problem, or is there something else wrong? I tried using starting fluid (sprayed it in the air intake) but that didn't work either. Any ideas?

  1. It could be your Fuel Pump Kill Switch, same thing happened to me in the past.

  2. It could be your distributor your altanator or you selnoid try one at a time to check them out first

  3. A couple of months ago I had the same problem with my 99 pathfinder.  It turned out to be the distributor.  It cost me over $350 to fix it.

  4. im not sure 100% but i can tell you the problem will be the disterbeuter, when you turn the key the engine is turning a little or not,if its not turning and hospower wich show on dushboard is not moving, thats mean some thing wrong with the disterbeuter.
