What could be wrong with my candy cn166 washing machine - it has stopped spinning/turning?

we were advised it could be the belt - we looked and it wasnt - so we looked at the carbon brushes and yes they were worn so we have today replaced them (having to wait 2 days for new ones) and the machine is still no different. it fills with water and drains away fine but does not turn/aggetate/spin. the timer moves around like normal (clicks) but no other hums or noises? please help what else could be the matter????

From what you say the timer and pump are working also the inlet valves.

Not much left, most likely the motor has died. Expensive I'm afraid, but get a specialist to inspect it in case its just a loose lead or similar.

My machine, which is a front loader, doesn't spin when it goes out of level in case that's of any help to you.

The belt has slipped off. If you take the lid off it you will see where the belt sits on a rotor at the back of the motor.

Time to call the repair man- it's hard to say without being able to see it!  I small plastic part could just be worn out.  Sounds like the belt or the engine is done.

Most likely the motor, module or timer. All expensive repairs. First two are obvious since the motor does the turning and the module gives the instructions. It could be the timer because even though it is turning and clicking, it is basically a set of switches that activate as the timer turns. If the switch that activates the motor is burned out, that is why. Could be loose wiring.  

If you have fitted the brushes yourself, make sure you have done it properly. One or both may not be contacting the armature.

near the motor or some times near the timer is a module which controls the spin speed of the motor it's this that more than likely gone

Sounds like the motor, if the machine is over 4 years old it's cheaper to buy a new one. Good luck.
