I've been to the doctor twice and they've ran bloodwork (CBC, Inflammation, etc) and xrays and haven't found anything yet.. It hurts from my knee to my leg to my ankle. It's just like an ache. It hurts about every other day or every couple of days but I've noticed that when it rains it gets REALLY bad. It will hurt all day A LOT. Sometimes it's on leg sometimes it's both... I'm 15. I play softball.... what could it be? It's been hurting since June.

  1. It sounds like sciatica. See an orthopedist.

  2. I use to play basketball in high school when I was a teenager. I am 5'9 and I would always get leg pains, it may be that you work your muscles a lot and you don't give them time to relax? Or it could just be growing pains. Theres a lot of different reasons why you could be achy there, try putting an ice pack on them at night and keep your legs leveled! Obviously it cannot be arthritis you are a bit too young for that. :)

  3. when it rains huh? I personally have heard that rain can cause a lot of discomfort in the joints and bones when the perosn has arthritis and such things. I think u should just rub your legs with a little bengay and get the blood flowing, and keep them warm! TAKE A  BREAK from working so much and eat a lot of bananas bcuz thats what some athletes do to prevent cramping and such.

The japanese olympic runners do this. Its been practiced for yyeeaarrssss in their culture.

Before u do any sports stretch first and eat right. Perhaphs ur leg is just irritated or u have a small disloged bone they didn't see with the x-ray or the shoes u  r wearing need more cushioning? Did they check for blood clots??

If u see a chiropracter and/or a physical therapsit and try'd all kinds of things and u arn't stressed out or anything , make them give you a ct scan of your leg.

  4. ~ Hi ~ ! Two of my children are very athletic and growing to be quite tall. Both experienced growing pains that manifested in the form of pain in their legs. Here is information on growing pains:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/growing...

I know we were terrified with the pain (especially our daughter experienced). So, we brought her to her to the Doctor and they ran tests and everything was fine and her Doctor basically classified what she was experiencing as "growing pains". My son would wake-up crying out in pain (and he's always been the strong silent type), but it really caused significant leg pain and some lower back pain.

It sounds like your parents are doing the right thing by bringing you to the Doctor and having tests run. I'm afraid there's no easy FIX-IT to growing pains. You could take Tylenol at night before you go to bed, you may find that helps. But, check with your Doctor and see what he/she recommends for pain relief.

I hope you get relief soon. =)
